What the tools process
Keyboard events, mouse events and controller readings are processed in the current browser tab. They are not sent to a DeskProof endpoint. A report is created in your browser when you click Download observations; downloading does not submit it to us. No microphone, camera, geolocation or account access is requested.
Storage and cookies in this release
The application sets no cookies. Only when you choose Save snapshot or import reports does it write the reports to localStorage under deskproof.lab.v2. Up to 20 reports can include your labels, notes, selected conditions, device identifiers exposed by the Gamepad API and observations. They remain in this browser and origin until deleted; use Delete all in Device Lab or clear the site data. Unsaved observations clear on refresh. Exports create files on your device, which must be deleted separately. Storage may be unavailable or cleared in private mode. Localhost and the public domain have separate storage. There are no advertising or analytics scripts in the current build. If these are introduced, this notice and any required consent controls must be updated before activation.
Ordinary web requests
Your browser contacts the hosting service to load pages and assets. Hosting providers may process IP addresses and ordinary request logs under their own infrastructure policies. This differs from uploading the test observations. External reference links take you to sites with their own privacy practices.
